Ian Cheeseman

I grew up in Radcliffe, enjoying my childhood at Radcliffe County Primary School.
Although I’m a lifelong Manchester City fan I remember going to games at Gigg Lane with my school friends watching players like Derek Spence and Brian Kennedy.

I’ve always had a passion for radio, starting in Hospital Radio and progressing to a long career with the BBC mainly commentating on my beloved City. I’m still a YouTuber and podcaster but another of my passions is Theatre and in particular Musical Theatre.

I’m a huge ABBA fan and so Mamma Mia, Chess and a less well known Benny & Bjorn show called Kristina and among my favourites.

I’ve always loved interviewing people, telling their stories, whether writing Colin Bell’s autobiography (he was Bury captain in his teens and starred at City & England) or chatting to the creatives involved in Theatre.
