Joanne Wells
I’m a proud Bury local and have spent more than 35 years working with people through my career in HR, counselling, mediation and training. I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people tick, the experiences that shape us and the stories that often sit behind the person everyone else sees.
On Life, Actually, I welcome guests from across Bury and beyond to talk openly about life, work, wellbeing, relationships, confidence, community and everything in between. From local charities, businesses and community projects to personal stories of challenge, change and triumph, the show celebrates ordinary people doing interesting, inspiring and sometimes extraordinary things.
I believe the best conversations are honest, uplifting and properly human. I’m not afraid to explore the more difficult parts of life, but there will always be warmth, humour and probably a few moments when things wander slightly off script.
Away from the microphone, I run my own people and wellbeing consultancy, work as a counsellor and trainer, and serve as a charity trustee. I’m also a wife to Allen, mum to two teenage daughters (Hannah, 17 and Olivia, 15), reluctant runner, enthusiastic wine drinker and devoted dog mum to Mollie.
Join me for Life, Actually on Radio Bury - thoughtful conversation, brilliant local guests and a reminder that none of us has life completely figured out.
