From our studios in the heart of the town, our presenters and volunteers create programmes with a genuine connection to the area we serve, whether that's local people and organisations, what's happening around Bury, specialist music, conversation or simply good company.
Made Here. Heard Here. is more than a strapline. It describes what we want Radio Bury to be: something created locally, shaped by the community and recognisably Bury. Our programmes are made by people with their own connections to the area, with space for local stories, local organisations and voices that might not otherwise be heard.
Radio Bury is operated by Radio Bury Community Interest Company. As a Community Interest Company, the station exists to provide benefit to the community it serves. Volunteers are an important part of Radio Bury, both on air and behind the scenes.
Our studios are based at Bury Business Centre on Kay Street in Freetown, putting us right in the community we serve and helping us build relationships with local people, groups, charities, businesses and organisations.
The station sounds local because it is local, broadcasting live from Freetown with programmes created by people who know and care about the area.
The station has its own story, from the original idea and the people who helped make it happen, through to building the service and getting Radio Bury on air.
